Computational Biology Expert

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, annotate, and benchmark AI systems using real-world computational biology use cases
• Assess the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated outputs in genomics, transcriptomics, and systems biology
• Critically review scientific workflows and pipelines to identify strengths and areas for improvement
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide biological context for AI model performance
• Document findings and scientific rationale with clarity for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Stay current on emerging trends in bioinformatics and machine learning applications in biology

Requirements

• PhD in Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field (or equivalent research experience)
• Proven experience in data-driven biological research and computational analysis workflows
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, R, and Bash
• Deep understanding of genomics, transcriptomics, structural biology, or systems biology
• Strong scientific reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI/ML or LLM evaluation within a biological context
• Hands-on experience with NGS pipelines, CRISPR workflows, AlphaFold, or PyMOL
• Familiarity with tools such as BWA, GATK, STAR, Salmon, Seurat, or Scanpy
• Published research or contributions to open-source bioinformatics projects
