Job description
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, annotate, and benchmark AI systems using real-world computational biology use cases
- Assess the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated outputs in genomics, transcriptomics, and systems biology
- Critically review scientific workflows and pipelines to identify strengths and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide biological context for AI model performance
- Document findings and scientific rationale with clarity for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging trends in bioinformatics and machine learning applications in biology
Requirements
- PhD in Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field (or equivalent research experience)
- Proven experience in data-driven biological research and computational analysis workflows
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, R, and Bash
- Deep understanding of genomics, transcriptomics, structural biology, or systems biology
- Strong scientific reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI/ML or LLM evaluation within a biological context
- Hands-on experience with NGS pipelines, CRISPR workflows, AlphaFold, or PyMOL
- Familiarity with tools such as BWA, GATK, STAR, Salmon, Seurat, or Scanpy
- Published research or contributions to open-source bioinformatics projects
