About the Company

Buzz is revolutionizing the analytics and maintenance of power grid infrastructure through our advanced AI solutions. Our computer vision systems analyze critical infrastructure to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency across the power grid network.

Responsibilities

  • Stay current with ML/CV research and evaluate applicability to the domain
  • Adapt and implement algorithms from research papers
  • Own end-to-end computer vision projects for defect detection, thermal anomalies, and vegetation monitoring
  • Design and execute experiments with hyperparameter tuning and ablation studies
  • Perform structured error analysis and performance breakdown by data slices
  • Select and justify model architectures based on latency and accuracy tradeoffs
  • Design and implement data pipelines including ingestion and annotation workflows
  • Manage experiment tracking and model versioning
  • Build model serving pipelines meeting latency and throughput requirements
  • Conduct code reviews and write integration tests for ML pipelines
  • Communicate research findings and technical decisions to stakeholders

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of industry experience in computer vision and machine learning
  • Solid understanding of object detection, semantic segmentation, and image classification
  • Experience with vision transformers and foundation models
  • Ability to read, extract, and implement ideas from ML research papers
  • Proficiency in Python and core libraries including PyTorch, Lightning, OpenCV, NumPy, pandas, and Scikit-Learn
  • Strong software engineering practices including Git, Pytest, CI/CD, Docker, and Python type hinting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience adapting published methods to specific use cases and validating against baselines
  • Ability to debug training instabilities and conduct systematic error analysis
