Responsibilities

  • Lead new payer contract negotiations from initial outreach through execution
  • Establish and maintain fee schedules and contracted rates for professional, drug, and ancillary services
  • Maintain and audit payer allowable tables within Athena and other relevant systems
  • Identify and resolve payment variances resulting from mismatched allowables
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payer inquiries regarding contract pricing
  • Generate reporting on contract performance, allowable schedules, and out-of-network activity
  • Conduct out-of-network analyses to evaluate financial exposure
  • Manage all system updates within Athena related to contracts and payer configurations

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in payer contracting, allowable management, or revenue integrity
  • Strong understanding of fee schedule structures and payer reimbursement methodologies
  • Experience managing allowable tables and rate configurations within Athena EHR or similar systems
  • Proficiency in resolving payment variances and mismatch allowables
  • Experience with out-of-network analysis and no-go reporting frameworks
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a multi-specialty, multi-location healthcare organization
  • Athena EHR experience
  • Experience with MSO structures
