Control Validation Security Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform IT audits on complex information systems, applications, and enclaves to ensure compliance with Federal and DOD standards
• Conduct accurate evaluations of required security levels
• Perform procedures to ensure the safety of information systems assets and protect against unauthorized access
• Provide guidance on audit readiness issues and the interpretation of regulations
• Support Financial Statement Audits, Annual Statement of Assurance, and SSAE-18 Audits
• Provide technical support in vulnerability assessment, risk assessment, and network security
• Conduct cybersecurity control validation exercises on unclassified networks and systems
• Analyze applied mitigations to evaluate if they meet security requirements while balancing business needs

Requirements

• Two years of experience with DOD 8500.2 or NIST SP 800-53
• Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
• Understanding of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
• Experience with technical report writing and providing evidentiary matter
• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAM-I or minimum of IAT-II

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous SCAR or Auditor experience
• Associate degree or higher
• Experience with FISCAM 2024
• Knowledge of Enterprise Log Management Systems
