Corporate Counsel

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and supplier agreements including hardware supply and software licensing
• Design and maintain compliance programs for data privacy, safety, and regulatory obligations
• Provide legal counsel to engineering, operations, business development, and marketing teams
• Advise on regulatory matters related to autonomous vehicle testing and deployment
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate with external advisors on litigation and IP
• Monitor evolving laws affecting autonomous vehicles and transportation
• Develop training programs on legal compliance and risk management
• Assist with corporate transactions and board-related activities

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
• 5–8 years of legal experience (law firm and in-house)
• Experience negotiating complex commercial and supplier agreements
• Experience managing compliance programs or internal controls
• Expertise in regulatory affairs, safety/product liability, data privacy, or employment law
• Strong business judgment and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in autonomous vehicle, automotive, or robotics sectors
• Familiarity with NHTSA regulations and FMVSS standards
• Experience with data privacy in connected vehicles (geolocation, telematics)
• Background in government affairs or public policy
• Experience supporting high-growth companies (Series C/D+)
• CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification
