Corporate Counsel

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and supplier agreements including hardware supply, software licensing, and joint development
• Design, implement, and maintain compliance programs for data privacy, safety, and regulatory obligations
• Provide day-to-day legal counsel to engineering, operations, business development, and marketing teams
• Advise on regulatory matters related to autonomous vehicle testing and deployment at federal, state, and local levels
• Support management of outside counsel for litigation, IP, and regulatory filings
• Monitor evolving laws affecting autonomous vehicles, transportation, and data privacy
• Develop training programs on legal compliance and risk management
• Assist with corporate transactions, equity matters, and board-related activities

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
• 5–8 years of legal experience, including law firm and in-house experience
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and supplier agreements
• Experience managing compliance programs or internal controls
• Substantive expertise in regulatory affairs, safety/product liability, data privacy, or employment law
• Strong business judgment and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in autonomous vehicle, automotive, robotics, or advanced transportation sectors
• Familiarity with NHTSA regulations and FMVSS standards
• Experience advising on data privacy for connected or autonomous vehicles
• Background in government affairs or public policy
• Experience supporting high-growth companies (Series C/D+)
• CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification
