Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive strategy for employment-related disputes including wage & hour, discrimination, and retaliation matters
  • Provide advice on non-employment claims, including service-related incidents and professional liability
  • Draft and respond to attorney demand letters and pre-litigation correspondence
  • Partner cross-functionally with People and Operations teams to provide risk-balanced legal advice
  • Identify systemic legal risks and develop scalable solutions using data and trend analysis
  • Manage outside counsel and litigation spend
  • Represent the company in administrative proceedings including EEOC and CRD/DFEH
  • Support internal investigations and sensitive employee matters

Requirements

  • J.D. and active bar membership
  • 4–6 years of relevant legal experience
  • Strong employment law and litigation experience
  • Deep knowledge of California wage & hour law
  • Familiarity with multi-state employment compliance
  • Experience drafting employment documents, motions, and pleadings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house experience or advising high-growth, multi-state employers
  • Experience with workers’ compensation, insurance claims, or professional liability
  • Familiarity with healthcare, non-medical home care, or franchise models
  • Interest in technology, data, and AI-driven legal solutions
