Job description

Responsibilities

  • Leverage deep knowledge of credit and debt investing to evaluate instruments such as high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and structured credit products.
  • Conduct thorough underwriting and due diligence reviews, assessing capital structures, covenants, and liquidity profiles.
  • Develop and refine complex financial models, including 3-statement, LBO, and downside/stress-case scenarios to assess default and refinancing risks.
  • Analyze spreads, yields, and relative value opportunities across public and private credit markets to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
  • Review complex legal documentation, focusing on covenant packages and protections for various credit structures.
  • Deliver incisive, well-articulated written and verbal insights to drive investment decision-making.

Requirements

  • 2–6 years of experience in credit investing, underwriting, leveraged finance, or a related field.
  • Expertise in analyzing cash flow statements, debt structures, covenants, and liquidity profiles.
  • Advanced financial modeling capabilities (3-statement, LBO, downside, and stress-case models).
  • Solid understanding of default risk, recovery analysis, refinancing risk, and sponsor evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess spreads, yields, and risk-adjusted returns within a portfolio context.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to precision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in investment banking (LevFin, FIG, M&A), private credit, credit hedge funds, or rating agencies.
  • Significant experience with direct underwriting and investment recommendation processes.
  • Commercial banking professionals with advanced modeling and credit structuring exposure.
