Czech-English Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Czech-English interpretation via OPI (Over-the-Phone) and VRI (Video Remote Interpreting) platforms
• Facilitate communication in healthcare and medical settings between Limited English Proficient speakers and clients
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to interpreter standards of practice
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply specialized medical terminology knowledge
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code requirements for video sessions

Requirements

• Native fluency in Czech and fluent English proficiency
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• Healthcare industry certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Dedicated wired internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps download/upload; Wi-Fi not permitted)
• Windows 10 or higher with dual-core 2 GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or better)
• Minimum 8 GB RAM and computer operating in "High Performance" mode
• Noise-cancelling wired headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth/wireless)
• Single computer or laptop meeting all specifications; no tablets, phones, or Chromebooks
