Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and enforcement of Medallion Architecture for enterprise Lakehouse implementations.
• Define and maintain Apache Iceberg table standards: partitioning, schema evolution, time travel, snapshot retention, and optimization schedules.
• Drive architectural decision-making through SAF/ARB forums and influence platform direction.
• Lead Data Factory squads and provide technical mentorship to AWS Glue engineers and Spark developers.
• Establish data modeling standards (dimensional modeling for Gold layer, SCD2, naming conventions) and metadata/lineage standards using OpenMetadata.
• Coordinate with platform teams and data quality leads to implement validation rules and ensure governance.
• Create reusable design patterns, templates, and code review best practices to ensure consistency.
• Manage stakeholder communications and escalations, translating technical design into clear business value.
