Data Center Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop data center layout and infrastructure designs, including electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems
• Produce and review design documents such as floor plans, equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, and specifications
• Collaborate with internal teams and external design consultants to manage multidisciplinary design coordination
• Ensure compliance with local codes, industry standards (ASHRAE, Uptime, TIA-942), and company design guidelines
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and capacity planning analysis
• Participate in design reviews, value engineering efforts, and construction oversight
• Support continuous improvement of data center design templates and standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering
• 5+ years of engineering design experience, with 2+ years in mission-critical/data center projects
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or equivalent design software
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure systems including power distribution, cooling, and space planning
• Knowledge of NEC, ASHRAE, Uptime Tier, and local building codes
• 50-75% travel required
