Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of a canonical data model to support a modern data platform
  • Design and build real-time data pipelines using Azure Data Explorer (ADX/Eventhouse) and Spark structured streaming
  • Support the migration from a legacy Azure SQL data warehouse into a Fabric-based Lakehouse architecture
  • Optimize performance and capacity usage in real-time data environments
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines across both streaming and batch workloads
  • Translate legacy SQL-based logic into modern PySpark-based pipelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions
  • Mentor and upskill team members to reduce silos across data engineering and reporting teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with real-time data platforms (Azure Data Explorer / ADX / Eventhouse or similar)
  • Solid experience with KQL (Kusto Query Language) or equivalent real-time query languages
  • Strong experience with data modeling (ERD, normalization/denormalization, analytical models)
  • Hands-on experience with Spark / PySpark, including streaming pipelines
  • Experience working with large-scale data pipelines (batch + streaming)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience with Lakehouse architectures
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview
