Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to process soil carbon and agricultural data
• Create and optimize database schemas and queries
• Implement data quality controls and validation processes
• Adapt existing data flows and schemas to new products and services under development
• Partner with Product, Project, and Operations teams to translate business demands into technical solutions
• Provide an organization-wide source of truth through robust data systems and dashboards

Requirements

• BS/B. Tech in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 5-7 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing complex queries
• Proficiency with relational databases, specifically MySQL
• Experience with AWS services including Glue, S3, and RDS
• Strong Python programming skills
• Experience building data pipelines, transformations, and dashboards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to big data ecosystems such as Snowflake, Redshift, Tableau, or Looker
• Familiarity with geospatial data
• Experience working with scientific or environmental datasets
• Understanding of the agritech or environmental sustainability sectors
• High attention to detail for uncovering and fixing data discrepancies
