Data Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the data engineering strategy and execution, aligning technical roadmaps with business goals
• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable, reliable data pipelines and infrastructure
• Own the Data Warehouse and ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage
• Establish and enforce best practices for data quality, privacy, security, and HIPAA compliance
• Drive the transition toward mature data engineering practices, including test-based development and automation

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data or Software Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in a Data Engineering leadership role
• Hands-on expertise with DBT, Airflow, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Proven experience building and supporting Data Warehouse solutions
• Experience working within HIPAA-regulated environments or other highly regulated industries
• Strong skills in automated testing and software engineering best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as FHIR or OHDSI
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
