Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Medallion architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold); implement dimensional models, SCD2, and robust standards/documentation.
  • Build a semantic layer for business-friendly access; leverage AI tooling; develop ontologies/taxonomies; ensure consistency across data products and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge graphs; integrate with metadata/lineage tools (e.g., OpenMetadata); ensure scalability and performance with architects/platform engineers.
  • Partner with Data Architects and Data Engineers to implement models in AWS Glue and Apache Iceberg; embed data quality validation and compliance.
  • Optimize for schema evolution, partitioning, and performance; create reusable modeling templates and best practices for Data Factory squads.
  • Communicate design rationale and influence senior stakeholders; translate complex data concepts into business value.

Requirements

  • Strong experience modeling for Lakehouse or data warehouse environments.
  • Proficiency in semantic layer design, ontologies, and knowledge graph development.
  • Hands-on with AWS Glue, Apache Iceberg, and Medallion patterns.
  • Knowledge of metadata and lineage systems (OpenMetadata preferred).
  • 7+ years in data modeling/data architecture.
  • Experience with ERwin/PowerDesigner (or similar) and semantic tools (AtScale/Zaimler or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with RDF/OWL/Neo4j; strong analytical thinking.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication; agile delivery with Jira.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial services or banking domain expertise.
  • Implemented enterprise semantic layers enabling self‑service analytics.
  • Production knowledge graph solutions integrating with Lakehouse stacks.
  • Performance tuning for large-scale partitioned tables and schema evolution.
  • Consulting background with executive-facing presentations.
