Data Platform Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for the data platform, balancing near-term delivery against long-term scalability
• Develop analytics and data accessibility solutions for internal engineering teams and external stakeholders
• Set high standards for data quality, validation, governance, and observability
• Mentor and grow a team of analytics and data engineers through technical guidance and code reviews
• Partner with engineering leadership on planning, prioritization, and headcount
• Collaborate cross-functionally to platform new data analytics workloads
• Research and integrate cutting-edge big data technologies and influence build-vs-buy decisions

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven management experience building and leading engineering teams
• Extensive experience building and operating production data platforms
• Proficiency with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Hive, or dbt
• Proficiency with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Argo Workflows
• Proficiency with multi-language build systems (Bazel, CMake) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Expertise in Python, Shell, SQL, and Git
• Expertise in configuration languages like YAML or CUE
