Responsibilities
- Lead data-driven projects across public policy and economic domains, managing end-to-end analytical workflows from ideation to delivery.
- Design, automate, and optimise data pipelines and ETL processes to support reproducible analytics.
- Apply AI, machine learning and geospatial techniques to extract insights from satellite imagery, trade and macroeconomic datasets.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, ranking systems and predictive models to inform policy decisions.
- Translate technical results into clear, actionable policy recommendations for government and corporate stakeholders.
- Mentor junior data scientists and enforce code quality, documentation and best practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field
- Proven experience leading data projects or small teams
- 5+ years Python
- 5+ years SQL
- 5+ years working with APIs
- Experience with machine learning or predictive modelling
- Experience building ETL or data pipelines
- Experience with data visualisation (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Excellent English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with geospatial data and satellite imagery tools (GeoPandas, QGIS)
- Experience with economic or policy-related datasets and economic modelling
- Consulting or public sector project experience
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure)
- Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Prior mentoring or people-management experience
