Data Science Manager - AI Economics Unit (UAE-based)

Responsibilities

• Lead data-driven projects across public policy and economic domains, managing end-to-end analytical workflows from ideation to delivery.
• Design, automate, and optimise data pipelines and ETL processes to support reproducible analytics.
• Apply AI, machine learning and geospatial techniques to extract insights from satellite imagery, trade and macroeconomic datasets.
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, ranking systems and predictive models to inform policy decisions.
• Translate technical results into clear, actionable policy recommendations for government and corporate stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists and enforce code quality, documentation and best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field
• Proven experience leading data projects or small teams
• 5+ years Python
• 5+ years SQL
• 5+ years working with APIs
• Experience with machine learning or predictive modelling
• Experience building ETL or data pipelines
• Experience with data visualisation (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
• Excellent English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with geospatial data and satellite imagery tools (GeoPandas, QGIS)
• Experience with economic or policy-related datasets and economic modelling
• Consulting or public sector project experience
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Prior mentoring or people-management experience
