Database Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Resolve advanced customer issues across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, and client libraries
• Provide consultative advice to optimize workloads and avoid common pitfalls
• Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes, and escalate to engineering with reproduction steps
• Investigate complex reports to turn them into actionable cases
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with users during high-impact situations
• Recommend improvements to documentation, tooling, and the product based on ticket patterns
• Mentor junior team members to raise support quality

Requirements

• 7+ years in technical support, databases, backend engineering, or SRE
• Deep PostgreSQL expertise including autovacuum, WAL growth, and table bloat
• Strong proficiency in high-performance SQL and query optimization
• Experience troubleshooting multi-tenant schema patterns and distributed systems
• Knowledge of data migration processes (pg_dump/restore, schema drift)
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Linux environments
• Ability to work within APAC time zones
