Database Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve advanced customer issues across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, and client libraries
• Provide consultative, proactive advice to optimize workloads and offer tailored advice to advanced users
• Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes, propose workarounds, and escalate to engineering
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with users during high-impact or time-sensitive situations
• Spot patterns across tickets and recommend improvements to documentation, tooling, and the product
• Mentor junior team members to raise the bar for support quality

Requirements

• 7+ years in technical support, databases, backend engineering, SRE, or a similar field
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals (autovacuum, WAL growth, table bloat, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in high-performance SQL and query optimization
• Experience troubleshooting complex setups and multi-tenant schema patterns
• Understanding of distributed system behavior and edge functions
• Experience handling data migrations (pg_dump/restore, schema drift)
• Hands-on experience with cloud hosting providers like AWS
• Comfort working in terminal and Linux environments
• Must reside in North or South American time zones
