Database Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve advanced customer issues across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, and client libraries
• Provide consultative, proactive advice to optimize workloads and avoid common pitfalls
• Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes, and escalate to engineering with solid reproduction steps
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with users during high-impact situations
• Spot patterns across tickets to recommend improvements to documentation and product
• Mentor junior team members to raise the bar for support quality

Requirements

• 7+ years in technical support, databases, backend engineering, or SRE
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals (autovacuum, WAL growth, table bloat)
• Strong skills in high-performance SQL and query optimization
• Experience troubleshooting complex setups and distributed systems
• Proficiency with data migration tools (pg_dump/restore) and schema drift
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Linux environments
• Ability to work within EMEA time zones
