About the Company

Social Discovery Group (SDG) is a group of social discovery companies solving problems of loneliness and isolation by transforming virtual intimacy into the new normal. Our international team of digital nomads works remotely from all over the world, creating globally impactful social entertainment platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the CTO's second-in-command across backend and ML teams
  • Own architecture and technical decision-making for products and features end-to-end
  • Maintain a hands-on approach by writing code and prototyping functionality
  • Translate business problems into technical solutions for small teams (5–10 people)
  • Lead people through hiring, offboarding, compensation, and resourcing decisions
  • Manage infrastructure, architecture, and operational/administrative tasks
  • Drive execution in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

Requirements

  • 8+ years of senior-level experience in software development and technical leadership
  • Strong backend engineering background (C# or Python preferred; Java or others welcome)
  • Proven experience in people management, including hiring and team leadership
  • Ability to connect technical implementation with business goals
  • Hands-on capability to deliver features and write production code
  • Structured thinking and clear communication skills
  • Startup mindset with the ability to operate in flat team structures
