Deputy General Counsel

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal point of contact for regulatory matters across the Middle East and CIS, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan
• Lead engagement with financial regulators regarding licensing applications, regulatory notifications, and RFI responses
• Advise senior stakeholders on the regulatory implications of new product launches such as digital asset trading, derivatives, and stablecoins
• Monitor and analyze regulatory developments across target markets to provide actionable guidance
• Partner with external counsel on complex regulatory matters and manage outside counsel relationships
• Handle regulatory correspondence, enforcement matters, and relationships with law enforcement and government authorities
• Provide legal input on marketing materials, product terms, and contractual arrangements
• Collaborate with global Legal, Compliance, Government Relations, and Product teams

Requirements

• Law degree and eligibility to practice as an advocate
• 12+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team
• Experience in financial services or the crypto industry
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology legal issues
• Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and within a global legal team
• Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial services and securities laws (e.g., VARA, ESCA)
• Strong academic credentials and excellent writing and analytical skills
