Job description
Responsibilities
- Support overall project management across IDIQ and task order levels to ensure contract requirements and milestones are met
- Manage the PMO operating cadence, including kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and leadership reviews
- Maintain the Integrated Master Schedule, including task order milestones, dependencies, and risks
- Develop and maintain core program artifacts such as Project Management Plans, risk registers, and progress reports
- Drive task order implementation including scope confirmation, resource planning, and schedule tracking
- Coordinate across technical leadership and corporate functions to resolve blockers
- Partner with Operations to support contract execution, including labor visibility, invoicing, and staffing
- Maintain visibility into program risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating items affecting cost or schedule
- Prepare customer briefings, monthly progress reports, and executive dashboards for NOAA and leadership
- Ensure program records are maintained in tools like Jira, Confluence, or GitHub Projects
- Support quality review of deliverables before submission to NOAA
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in project, program, or technical program management
- Experience managing complex programs with multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Knowledge of NOAA’s NWP modeling suites
- Experience supporting government contracts, federal programs, or task orders
- Strong project management discipline in schedule and risk management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive-ready reporting
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub Projects, Smartsheet, or Asana
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving environments with ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing software, cloud, data, scientific, engineering, or aerospace programs
- Experience working with NOAA, NASA, DoD, or other federal science/technology agencies
- Familiarity with federal contract compliance and subcontractor management
