Design Engineer

Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design and experience of supabase.com sites, including marketing, documentation, and mini sites
• Collaborate with Product Marketing, Engineering, Product, and the Docs team
• Ensure high-quality typography, layout, diagrams, and code blocks
• Develop and ship live pages using modern front-end frameworks
• Evolve the design system and reusable components
• Refine illustrations, diagrams, and messaging for technical clarity
• Proactively identify and drive site improvements

Requirements

• Dual proficiency in design (Figma) and front-end development
• Experience building for developers or technical audiences
• Ability to write production-quality code using React, Next.js, Vite, and Tailwind CSS
• Experience with component libraries like shadcn, Radix, or Base UI
• Proficiency using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, etc.) for prototyping and shipping
• Ability to work independently in an asynchronous, globally distributed environment
• Strong sense of craft and ability to move fast

Preferred Qualifications

• Active builder of side projects or personal experiments
• Experience in dev tools, crypto, tech startups, or AI sectors
