About the Company

Prefect builds and operates resilient, Pythonic orchestration and MCP platforms used for mission-critical workloads. Our remote-first company is focused on defining automation for the context era by curating an intelligent context layer.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Prefect's event strategy from conception to execution to convert developer communities into commercial revenue
  • Own the full lifecycle of event presence, including conference selection and designing developer-focused experiences
  • Develop comprehensive event strategies, program mixes, and calendar planning
  • Manage budgets, ROI measurement, and performance reporting for all event initiatives
  • Lead execution of hosted and sponsored events, managing logistics, vendors, and onsite operations
  • Launch and manage online community initiatives including forums, user groups, and ambassador programs
  • Create engagement strategies that bridge open source users with enterprise customer opportunities

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing developer communities and events with strategic leadership experience
  • Background in developer advocacy, developer relations, or technical community building
  • Ability to credibly engage with engineers regarding Python, data infrastructure, or AI tooling
  • Proven track record launching and scaling community programs like forums or ambassador programs
  • Experience working with technical audiences in infrastructure, DevOps, API, or data engineering
  • Strong metrics-driven approach to community growth and engagement measurement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with developer-focused companies in infrastructure, DevOps, or data technologies
  • Genuine curiosity about AI trends and the MCP ecosystem
  • Experience organizing both large-scale conferences and intimate developer meetups
  • Comfortable speaking at technical conferences and representing the company
  • Preference for candidates based in New York or the Bay Area
