Director, AML/CFT Risk Assessment

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and enhancement of a risk-based AML/CFT risk assessment framework
• Manage the enterprise-wide AML/CFT risk assessment program, including methodology updates and governance reporting
• Oversee risk assessment processes across customers, products, services, and geographies
• Lead the AML/CFT review process for new products, partners, and business initiatives
• Partner with business development, product management, and legal teams to define mitigating controls
• Collaborate with 1LoD, 2LoD, and internal audit to identify and remediate control gaps
• Serve as a primary point of contact for AML/CFT risk assessment inquiries and regulatory examinations
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of AML/CFT risk professionals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 8+ years of progressive AML/CFT compliance experience
• At least 4 years in a risk, program management, or leadership role
• Direct experience in regulated banking environments
• Demonstrated experience owning enterprise AML/CFT risk assessments
• Deep knowledge of BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN regulations, and FFIEC manuals
• Proficiency in assessing AML risk across diverse product types

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Finance, Law, or Business Administration
• AML/CFT or financial crimes certification
• Experience within BaaS, fintech partnership banking, or OCC-regulated institutions
• Experience with prepaid card issuing programs or commercial banking
• Experience leading AML/CFT program transformations
