Director, Digital Asset Accounting

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for month-end close across all digital asset positions
• Maintain and reconcile comprehensive digital asset roll forwards across all token types
• Own accounting for tokenized equity issuances, token sales, and DeFi pool activity
• Design scalable accounting frameworks and policies for digital asset products
• Partner with Technical Accounting to establish policies and controls for audit and regulatory scrutiny
• Drive optimization of digital asset accounting tools to automate workflows
• Serve as the primary accounting liaison to Product and Engineering for new product launches
• Manage and grow a high-performing accounting team
• Collaborate with the Director of Internal Controls on SOX control design and monitoring

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 5+ years in a people management role
• Deep knowledge of GAAP financial reporting applied to digital assets
• Hands-on experience with token issuance, trading fee revenue recognition, and DeFi pool accounting
• Experience designing and improving accounting systems and workflows
• Ability to work with complex on-chain and off-chain data sets
• Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering teams
• Experience with SOX compliance in a public or pre-IPO environment
• Comfort operating in ambiguity with evolving digital asset guidance

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience in a digital asset accounting role
• Exposure to crypto, tokenized equity, or blockchain-based platforms
