Director, Loan Accounting

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for month-end close across loan accounting
• Prepare and deliver clear reporting on close status, open items, and risk areas to the Controller
• Oversee accounting for loan origination, servicing, and sales
• Ensure financial statements are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
• Design scalable accounting frameworks and policies
• Partner with Technical Accounting to maintain policies and controls
• Support new product launches by evaluating accounting implications from inception
• Manage and grow a high-performing accounting team
• Leverage large data sets to resolve reconciliation variances
• Work with the Director of Internal Controls on SOX control design and monitoring

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 5+ years in a people management role
• Deep knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and loan accounting
• Experience designing and improving accounting systems and workflows
• Strong analytical skills for resolving complex reconciliation variances
• Experience with SOX compliance in a public or pre-IPO environment
• Ability to collaborate with Product and Engineering teams
