Director, Medical Affairs (Medical Science Liaison)

Responsibilities

• Own and advance the regional field medical strategy within the assigned territory
• Lead delivery of high-quality scientific and clinical presentations on disease states and products
• Strategically identify, map, and profile external experts and develop territory engagement plans
• Develop and sustain strategic relationships with healthcare professionals and clinical investigators
• Collect, synthesize, and communicate actionable field medical insights to internal stakeholders
• Provide scientific leadership for Medical Affairs activities at key congresses and meetings
• Lead cross-functional partnerships with Clinical Science, Operations, Market Access, and Commercial teams
• Provide leadership and coaching, including onboarding and peer mentoring

Requirements

• 12 to 15+ years of biopharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience
• 7 to 10+ years in Medical Affairs and/or an MSL role
• Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD)
• Demonstrated capability in needs assessment, facilitation, and strategic planning
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrix environment
• Willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in oncology, immuno-oncology, or cellular therapy
• Familiarity with the Mid-Atlantic territory and relevant external experts
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel
• Experience managing project budgets and vendor partnerships
• Proven people leadership experience including hiring and performance development
