Director of Data

Responsibilities

• Partner with the VP of Product on data strategy to drive results for suppliers and buyers
• Develop customer-facing analytics including pricing intelligence and applied AI/ML
• Equip Operations with data to advise customers on liquidation strategies
• Identify and develop commercial value through new data-driven products
• Define and maintain marketplace liquidity metrics for leadership and the Board
• Strengthen internal adoption of data and AI/ML in everyday decision-making
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of analysts
• Partner with Engineering to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility

Requirements

• 7-10+ years in analytics or data science
• 3+ years leading data teams in B2B SaaS, marketplace, or data products
• Direct experience with CPG and/or retail data and metrics
• Hands-on proficiency with SQL and the modern data stack
• Expertise in dbt, Python, pandas, and BI tools
• Experience shipping customer-facing data products
• Ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in category management, pricing optimization, or demand planning
• Knowledge of applied AI/ML, supply chain management, or auction theory
• Experience with retail media or LLMs
