Director of Orthopedics

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and clinical oversight for the orthopedic home health program
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and care coordinators to optimize recovery plans
• Develop and implement standardized protocols for common orthopedic conditions
• Monitor program performance through data analysis, quality metrics, and patient outcomes
• Ensure documentation and care practices meet CMS regulations and accreditation standards
• Conduct training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for team members
• Coordinate with referral sources and hospital discharge planners to facilitate transitions of care
• Identify opportunities for innovation and growth in the orthopedic service line

Requirements

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Registered Nurse (RN) with orthopedic specialization
• Minimum 5 years of clinical orthopedic experience
• At least 2 years in a leadership or management role
• In-depth knowledge of home health regulations and clinical documentation standards
• Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a home health or post-acute care setting
• Advanced certification in orthopedics (e.g., OCS, ONC)
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Homecare Homebase, WellSky, or Kinnser
• Master's degree in healthcare administration, physical therapy, or nursing
