Director, Product Design

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of product designers across multiple product pods, including hiring, performance, and career growth
• Partner with the VP of Design on design strategy, org design, and scaling the design function
• Set and hold the craft bar across interaction patterns, visual execution, and design system standards
• Define how product design operates with AI tools and for AI-driven product experiences
• Act as a strategic design partner to senior Product and Engineering leaders
• Influence product strategy through deep insight into fundraisers and donors
• Evolve Givebutter's design culture, establishing practices, norms, and rituals that scale

Requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience
• 3–5 years of experience managing other designers
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership in complex, multi-surface product environments
• Proven ability to develop designers at different career stages
• Deep craft sensibility in interaction design, visual design, and design systems
• Experience working closely with Product and Engineering leadership
• SaaS or B2B product experience required
• Fluency with how AI is reshaping design and design workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Nonprofit or social impact experience
• Experience designing AI-native, automation, or agentic product experiences
