Responsibilities

• Have technical knowledge of computer-aided translation (CAT) software, Total Eclipse or Case Catalyst.
• Work closely with the Writer to provide accurate transcripts of legal proceedings.
• Edit transcripts in Total Eclipse and/or Case Catalyst, either in realtime or delayed, using the audio to ensure correct formatting, spelling, punctuation, and error correction.
• Assist with the processing of final transcripts at the end of the day, including provision of ASCII files.
• Amend transcripts and prepare errata sheets as per client instructions.
• Maintain up-to-date glossaries for all court reporting jobs.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a court reporter
• Extensive English vocabulary and excellent grammar
• Minimum of 200WPM
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Professional and confident communicator with judges, lawyers, and colleagues
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Flexible team player
• Willingness to work overtime (evenings) to complete transcripts on time
• Availability for travel to the Middle East and surrounding areas
• All assignment arrangements will be communicated with reporter managers
