Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead design, review, and supervision of electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, lighting, power, earthing, ELV systems, and emergency lighting
• Perform detailed electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, and earthing calculations
• Prepare and review Material Submittals, Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans ensuring compliance with specifications
• Review and approve Shop Drawings, ensuring design intent and compliance with DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and other authority regulations
• Ensure full compliance of all electrical works with project specifications, DEWA regulations, BS 7671, IEC standards, and Dubai Green Building Regulations
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during construction and commissioning phases
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems for zero-snag handover
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and other trades for seamless MEP integration
• Provide commercial and technical input including value engineering and cost optimization solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by UAE Ministry of Education
• 5–8 years of strong experience in MEP electrical projects in UAE high-rise, commercial, or residential developments
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, ETAP, or similar electrical design software
• Deep knowledge of DEWA regulations, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, and Dubai Green Building Regulations
• Strong calculation and troubleshooting ability including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, and earthing
• Multi-disciplinary coordination experience with consultants, contractors, and authority inspectors
• Value engineering and cost optimization skills
• Excellent communication, reporting, and leadership abilities
