Job description

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a telemedicine setting focusing on obesity and diabetes management
  • Manage complex insulin titration, insulin pumps, and Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs)
  • Collaborate with and supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians
  • Review APP patient charts every third visit to ensure quality and continuity of care
  • Manage patients with complex co-morbidities including CKD, ESRD, and cardiovascular conditions
  • Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity and diabetes
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours call schedule
  • Conduct weekly collaborative meetings and mentorship sessions with assigned APPs

Requirements

  • ABIM Board certification in Endocrinology
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in AL, TN, OK, MO, IN, SC, or GA
  • Current Letter of Qualification (LOQ) with the IMLC
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an attending physician in endocrinology
  • Expertise in advanced diabetes management (CGMs, insulin pumps, complex regimens)
  • Competency in managing CKD, ESRD, and CAD/CV conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • ABOM certification in Obesity Medicine
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy
  • Experience working with APPs, residents, or trainees in academic settings
  • Medical fluency in Spanish
