Engineering Chief of Staff

About the Company

We build infrastructure that delivers massive amounts of web data to the companies training the world’s most powerful AI models. We power and support Grass, a bandwidth-sharing network that operates a massive distributed crawler, providing unique access to high-quality public web data at global scale.

Responsibilities

• Act as a bridge between management and engineers to ensure clear communication
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams
• Troubleshoot engineering process issues and optimize onboarding for new team members
• Own and maintain developer documentation for clarity and excellence
• Act as a thought partner for the product roadmap by collaborating with the CEO, CTO, and customers
• Contribute to newsletters, blog posts, and release notes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Background as an engineer or in a cross-functional technical role (e.g., Technical Product Manager) at an early-stage company
• Experience in a customer-facing or stakeholder-facing role
• Experience writing code professionally or via side projects
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including networking, security, and automation
• Proficiency with Go, NextJS, ReactJS, JavaScript (ES6+), Chakra UI, RESTful APIs, and Git
• Experience developing applications in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, and/or Go
• Strong product sense and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing external-facing developer documentation
