Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers while staying close to code and architecture
• Drive high-quality, timely delivery by removing obstacles and enabling autonomy
• Coach engineers through 1:1s, career guidance, and hands-on pairing
• Partner with Product, Design, and stakeholders to clarify priorities and ensure alignment
• Establish best practices for code quality, testing, and system reliability
• Leverage agentic workflows and AI-assisted development to improve team productivity
• Protect team focus by prioritizing high-impact work and reducing ambiguity

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience leading engineering teams
• Strong background in backend or full-stack web development
• Player-coach instincts with ability to contribute to production code
• AI fluency and active use of AI-assisted development tools
• System design judgment balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability
• Coaching experience that raises team ownership and accountability
• Clear, decisive communication with cross-functional partners

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coaching transitions from IC to tech lead or mid-level to senior
• Experience leading in a pod or squad model with end-to-end ownership
• Familiarity with content platforms, API-driven architectures, or consumer-facing systems at scale
• Proven track record using PDLC and user testing to deliver ideas
