Engineering Manager, DevOps

Vannevar is a defense technology company building AI to deter our adversaries. We are a small agile team combining world-class engineers with veteran strategists to build agentic AI that models adversary behavior and simulates campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a DevOps team through hiring, mentoring, and coaching
• Drive platform reliability by owning CI/CD, deployment, and runtime infrastructure
• Build self-service tooling and automation to reduce developer toil
• Evolve CI/CD, release engineering, and supply-chain security
• Implement and mature observability, logging, metrics, and alerting
• Standardize infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Partner with Security and compliance stakeholders for secure-by-default systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience
• 8+ years of experience as an individual contributor in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering
• Strong experience operating production systems in AWS
• Proven experience with CI/CD and automation
• Experience with observability stacks like Datadog, Grafana, or CloudWatch
• Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes or ECS
• Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building DevSecOps practices
• Experience with multi-account AWS environments and zero-trust patterns
• Experience supporting regulated environments like FedRAMP or DoD/IC
• Experience with GitHub Actions at scale
• U.S. TS Security clearance with SCI Eligibility
