Job description

Responsibilities

  • Manage a distributed team of engineers and its MLOps/Analytics portfolio
  • Organize and lead the team’s processes to achieve objectives
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings and identify team health indicators
  • Review code and provide architectural leadership
  • Mentor and grow direct reports to help them achieve professional goals
  • Collaborate with product managers and architects on engineering roadmaps
  • Represent Canonical at conferences and interact with the community

Requirements

  • Proven track record of professional software delivery
  • Professional Python development experience, preferably in open source
  • Deep understanding of the machine learning space and its challenges
  • Experience designing and implementing MLOps solutions
  • Exceptional academic track record
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries and tools
  • Experience building automated machine learning solutions for the cloud
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker, LXD, or Kubernetes
  • Experience with public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience in the Linux and open-source software ecosystem
  • Demonstrated track record of Open Source contributions
