Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement backend services that interface with Postgres and Databricks
• Design and oversee data adapters to integrate with external imaging facilities, payers, and TPAs using FHIR/HL7 and DICOM
• Conduct rigorous code reviews and set coding standards to ensure high-quality, secure, and compliant codebases
• Design systems for reliability, fault-tolerance, and observability as the platform scales
• Write clear engineering documentation outlining architecture choices and technical milestones
• Mentor backend and full-stack engineers through technical leadership and code sharing
• Partner with Product to translate business goals into efficient technical solutions
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed CI/CD, security, and cost-transparency into services

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with architectural responsibilities
• Strong expertise in Python, TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, DICOM) and compliance (HIPAA, SOC-II)
• Proven ability to design fault-tolerant, high-availability distributed systems
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS (S3, Fargate, App Runner, Route 53)
• Experience with data pipelines and integrations with Databricks or similar large-scale platforms
• Background in healthtech, insurance tech, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with DICOM operations and PACS systems
• Exposure to multi-agent systems such as LLMs or OCR
