Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of individual contributors as a player-coach (up to 50% IC work)
• Provide hands-on technical guidance on architecture, quality, and product trade-offs
• Own the team's roadmap, weekly execution, and operational aspects
• Partner with Product, Design, and Customer Engineering to translate customer feedback into shipped products
• Manage the full performance cycle including hiring, onboarding, and career growth
• Establish effective team practices for planning, code review, and decision-making

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing professional software engineering teams
• Strong individual contributor background (IC4-equivalent) with ability to write high-quality code
• Proven experience leading teams building end-user products (developer tools, AI products, or CLIs)
• Experience shipping products consumed by or built for AI agents (MCP servers, agent SDKs, etc.)
• Hands-on experience using and reasoning about coding agents like Claude Code or Cursor
• Experience partnering with Product and Design to move features from idea to launch
• Async-first communication skills and experience in globally distributed remote teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in Go, TypeScript, React, SvelteKit, or GraphQL
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Background in code intelligence, code search, or large-scale refactoring tools
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, or security scanning products
