Engineering Team Lead

About the Company

Field Materials is a young startup with a bold vision to become the commerce and financial technology backbone of construction. Founded by serial entrepreneurs, we are partnering with prominent Silicon Valley VC funds to digitize and democratize construction material purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering team of 4-10 engineers
• Remain hands-on with writing and reviewing code
• Manage, hire, and recruit new talent
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams
• Mentor and coach engineers to foster a strong sense of ownership and urgency

Requirements

• 2+ years of engineering management experience
• 4+ years of experience as a full stack software engineer
• Experience with distributed systems and React
• Ability to prototype solutions and provide constructive code feedback
• Proven ability to attract, hire, and coach world-class engineers
• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Go
• Experience with GraphQL
