Engineering Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend)
• Spend 30% of time on management and 70% on active product development
• Lead hiring processes and onboarding for new engineers
• Manage team dynamics and provide continuous constructive feedback
• Responsible for direct reports' career growth and coaching
• Redesign engineering workflows using autonomous agents as the default execution layer
• Propose and operationalize agentic workflows (spec, plan, execute, verify)
• Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase
• Use verification loops to ensure results are secure, reliable, and scalable

Requirements

• Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people
• Extensive experience with Backend (Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming)
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping production systems
• Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows
• Ability to think in systems and define clear specifications
• Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency
• Solid communication and organizational skills
