Engineering Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend)
• Spend approximately 30% of your time on management and 70% on active product development
• Lead hiring processes and oversee the onboarding of new engineers
• Act as a spokesperson for the team, managing dynamics and providing continuous coaching and feedback
• Redesign engineering workflows using autonomous agents as the default execution layer
• Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows (spec, plan, execute, verify)
• Build reusable agentic primitives and verification loops (tests, evals, guardrails) to ensure scalable and secure results

Requirements

• Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people
• Extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming
• Proven track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems
• Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows
• Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to define specs and instrument verification
• High level of AI fluency and strong automation capabilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with a people-first approach
