Responsibilities
- Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers, overseeing team dynamics and career growth.
- Spend approximately 30% of your time on management and 70% actively participating in product development.
- Lead the redesign of engineering workflows by implementing autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
- Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows (spec, plan, execute, verify) to accelerate delivery.
- Build reusable agentic primitives and workflows within the codebase for cross-domain application.
- Implement verification loops, including tests, checks, and guardrails, to ensure scalable and secure results.
- Drive hiring and onboarding processes for your team and support peer recruitment efforts.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people.
- Extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or other functional programming languages.
- Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows.
- Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
- High level of AI fluency and a demonstrated ability to use automation and AI capabilities.
- Ability to think in systems: defining clear specs, breaking down plans, and instrumenting verification.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a people-first approach to leadership.
