English Composition Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach 11-week live, online English Composition and Advanced Composition courses
• Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes active learning
• Provide timely, constructive feedback and respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
• Host weekly office hours to build community and deepen understanding
• Work with Teaching Assistants to co-manage courses and mentor them on grading practices
• Evaluate student progress and maintain accurate grade records
• Collaborate with peers and staff to share best practices and improve instruction
• Stay current on pedagogical trends and the effective use of AI tools in curriculum

Requirements

• Master’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Linguistics, or a related field
• At least 2 years of college or university level teaching experience
• Strong communication and classroom facilitation skills
• Proficiency with digital tools, LMS, and video conferencing
• Ability to incorporate AI-powered educational tools into instruction
• Availability to commit 8-10 hours per week per course
