Epic Implementation Project Manager - Interfaces/Conversions

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of Epic EHR interface and data conversion projects
• Design and implement robust interfaces between Epic and external healthcare systems (labs, pharmacies, radiology)
• Manage full data conversion lifecycle from legacy systems to Epic, including mapping, scripting, validation, and troubleshooting
• Develop detailed project plans tracking interface development and conversion progress
• Conduct risk assessments for technical integrations and implement mitigation strategies
• Facilitate cross-functional team alignment with project goals and timelines
• Organize regular project meetings to review progress and address issues
• Ensure rigorous testing of interfaces and conversions to confirm data integrity before go-live
• Provide technical leadership to interface specialists and data conversion analysts
• Prepare documentation on interface standards, conversion protocols, and project outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field
• 4-5 years project management experience with large-scale data conversion and interface projects
• Proven Epic implementation experience
• Strong expertise in healthcare integration standards including HL7 and FHIR
• PMP certification preferred
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities for complex technical challenges
• Effective leadership and communication skills for coordinating diverse teams
• Detailed knowledge of Epic's data structures and interface capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in related field
• Experience with healthcare applications that interface with Epic
• Prior clinical or healthcare environment experience understanding workflows and data needs
