Executive Director, Commercial Supply Chain

Responsibilities

• Establish the global commercial supply chain function, commercial supplier oversight, and deliverables supporting launch and ongoing supply
• Provide leadership and vision in establishing the Commercial Supply Chain function by leveraging processes and building capability
• Develop and maintain end-to-end global supply chain strategy and supply network from drug substance through to finished drug product
• Oversee management of commercial contract manufacturers and identify opportunities for efficiencies and cost reduction
• Work with external manufacturers and packaging organizations to establish commercial supply agreements and plan for future forecasts
• Partner with Trade and Distribution to select and oversee third-party logistics providers
• Lead end-to-end value chain planning including inventory management across raw materials, drug substance, drug products, and finished goods
• Implement and integrate serialization solutions that meet DSCSA compliance requirements
• Develop and optimize processes and systems (e.g., ERP) in collaboration with commercial, pharmaceutical development, quality, and finance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science or business
• 15+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical supply chain
• Experience with specialty product launches
• Expertise in strategic global supply chain and commercial manufacturing
• Experience leading pharmaceutical commercial supply chain functions in a virtual environment
• Proven track record with specialty pharmaceutical products, ideally Schedule II-V controlled drugs
• Experience establishing inventory and supply planning software systems
• Experience leading DSCSA compliant serialization implementation
• Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, and distribution
• Knowledge of channel strategy design including hub and wholesaler models
• Working understanding of cGMP and cGDP
