External Contractor - Mentor role for AI-Powered Software Engineer track

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for students over an online community forum Answer questions around course content over the forum and facilitate content for students who get stuck in learning Host one weekly live virtual session to offer direct, real-time support to students Redirect learners to appropriate support channels and escalate issues to the Mentor Operations team when needed

Requirements

Fluency in English both written and spoken Eligibility Requirements: Mentors must have at least 7 years of industry experience or a master’s degree in the relevant field Hands-on software engineering experience Strong proficiency in Python (or similar backend language) Solid experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and scalable test design Strong understanding of design patterns (creational, structural, behavioral) Experience with microservices and cloud-native architectures Ability to design and review scalable system architectures Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in real development workflows Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for quality, security, and maintainability Strong code review and debugging skills Experience working on production-grade distributed systems preferred Experience teaching technical concepts and public speaking, organizing technical talks, or webinars Positive character, trusted by the students, creating emotional ties in the group Flexibility at their current job to take this challenge part-time as an external contractor
