Financial Controller

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and timely publication of clean management accounts
• Maintain the integrity and quality of the books including accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
• Define and enforce data-quality boundaries with Crypto Operations
• Manage statutory accounts and local filings for multiple group entities across various jurisdictions
• Account for complex financial instruments including options, FX hedges, and DeFi positions
• Establish and manage the financial-controls framework
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
• Drive the adoption of AI and automation within Finance operations
• Ensure the function is investor-diligence-ready

Requirements

• Recognized senior accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
• Significant post-qualification experience in financial services, trading, banking, or hedge funds
• Hands-on experience with group controllership at a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction scale
• Proficiency in accounting for complex financial instruments (options, FX hedges, derivatives)
• Strong leadership skills with a hands-on operational approach
• Direct and accountable communication style
• Strong bias for structure, automation, and modern finance technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience accounting for digital assets and DeFi positions
• Experience with tools like Cryptio, Bitwave, or Tres
• Experience preparing a Finance function for external investor diligence
• Experience leading remote teams across multiple time zones
• Familiarity with modern finance stacks and AP automation
